Kuhio Shores is a small condo complex located right on the beach. Snorkeling, scuba, swimming, and beachcombing are available without having to get in your car. and due to its optimal location, you are just 5 minutes by car from the wonderful array of shopping and restaurants in Poipu and Koloa (we provide a Welcome Packet on your arrival with some suggestions here).
Kauai's Sunny South Shore - Grab your swimwear, sun glasses, surfboard, sandals, and snorkel gear and get ready for Poipu, Kauai. Just a mile down the road is famous Spouting Horn Park, a unique natural feature of our garden isle. A little farther down the road is exquisite Allerton Botanical Gardens. Only 15 minute away, you can peruse the art galleries of Hanapepe's vibrant art scene. Watching surfers at the local surf spots is also popular activity among locals and visitors alike. Keep a look out for the green turtles swimming at Lawai Beach and the cove to the west of Kuhio Shores everyday! Watch for humpback whales right from shore. All so close to Kuhio Shores! Be sure to find time for a leisurely stroll through old Koloa Town and its funky and fine items, including some great Hawaiian craft pieces, aloha shirts, jewelry and fine art objects.
The
Beach -Adjacent is beautiful Lawai Beach, a favorite of snorkelers. The golden sand beaches of the Kauai's sunny south shore are world reknowned, from Poipu Beach Park, to the long stretch of sand known as Shipwrecks Beach . Poipu Beach has a rock-enclosed area making it a favorite of both snorkelers and families.

Golf - Two golf courses are located less than five minutes by car; the Kiahuna Country Club and the Poipu Bay Resort Course at the Hyatt where the PGA Grand Slam is held. The Wailua Course is a public course on the East side, or you may also want to go North to the world-class Prince and Makai Courses.
Surf and Windsurfing - For those who love to surf, across the street are three prime surf spots, named: PK’s, Centers and Acid Drop. Surfers and Body Boarders are also a common sight at Lawai Beach. This is the perfect opportunity to learn to surf in the gentle waters of Kauai's South Shore. Or perhaps take a sailboard lesson.
Snorkeling and Scuba - Kuhio Shores is located right next door from the famous Lawai Beach, which Frommer’s had named as Kauai’s best snorkeling beach. Many of the local snorkeling companies bring their snorkelers right to this cove! You’ll love snorkeling with the sea turtles! The better snorkeling and scuba spots on Kauai are inside protective reefs. The choice of destination is determined by a variety of factors including the tide, surf, wind and restrictions.
Na Pali Coast Tours - Experience Kauai's incredible north shore, just a short drive north. Come Explore Kauai’s rugged Na Pali Coast aboard a luxury sailing catamaran or zodiac with friendly sea-going professionals. You’ll disover abundant wildlife, pristine reefs, dolphins & whales. Taking a boat trip along the Na Pali is a wonderful way to see those incredible waterfalls & cliffs. Several tours depart from Port Allen - just 10 minutes away, while others leave from Hanalei on the North Shore.
Helicopter
Tour- Enter into a world of lush tropical rainforests, jagged
mountains, sea cliffs, beaches and craters. You will climb past Hanalei,
hover over the 3,400 ft. Mt. Namolokama waterfalls and soar into the
vast Waimea Canyon. You will pass Pu’u-ka-Pele, before crossing
the Alaka’i swamp. You will be in awe as the Na Pali Cliffs open
up before you.
Deep Sea Fishing- A most sensational deep sea fishing
adventure can be yours this vacation. The warm tropical waters of the
Hawaiian islands attract some of the greatest big game fish in the
world, including Ahi, Blue Marlin, Mahi Mahi and Wahoo. Departing from
Port Allen, you'll set sail with a seasoned captain and crew. View spectacular
vistas of Kauai on your way to the fishing site.
ATV Tours- Venture into Kauai's lush tropical paradise on the back of an easy-to-use All Terrain Vehicle (ATV). Ride your own ATV and enjoy breath-taking mountain and coastal views. Choose one of the daily expeditions through the gorgeous mountains of Kauai's south side for an unforgettable experience of the road less traveled.
Kayaking- Rent a kayak for a lazy paddle up a lush tropical stream and swim under waterfalls, or join an adventure on the open sea, going down the Napali Coast from Kee Beach to Polihale. A variety of tours are available for experiencing our islands waterways, or rent your own and explore by yourself.
Zipline
Tours- Our newest adventure! The "Zip n' Dip Expedition"
is for anyone 12 and older and between 80 and 280 lbs. It is a combination
of 8 ziplines, 1 suspension bridge, and ends up at an awesome waterfall
swim hole for lunch, diving, jumping, and floating around on inner tubes.
An experience of a lifetime!
Hiking- Kauai offers some of the most breath-taking hikes within its park system,
and several companies offer guided hikes to beautiful jungle destinations
on private land. Our favorite is the 8-mile round-trip hike from the
end of the road at Kee Beach to magnificent Hanakapaia Falls. Don't
forget your camera for this one.
Luaus- Hawaiian for dinner & a show! There are
several fantastic luaus on the island. Exotic tropical dancers and ono
grinds... not for the faint of appetite.

must if you are on your honeymoon and if not, just not to be missed! A
gourmet meal served right on the beach at sundown. White tablecloth, scented
